Me
I truly believe in teaching from the heart. With more than 20 years of experience in education, including teaching kindergarten, Transition Kindergarten, and supporting children as a reading and dyslexia practitioner, I have dedicated my career to helping young learners build the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working closely with children, families, educators, and school communities. My approach combines strong academic foundations with social-emotional learning, recognizing that children learn best when they feel supported, understood, and confident in themselves. I am passionate about creating engaging, thoughtful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, imagination, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Having grown up in this community, it is especially meaningful to me to give back by offering classes and workshops designed to support local children and families. Whether helping a young child prepare for kindergarten, strengthening early reading and writing skills, or providing individualized literacy support, my goal is always to meet each child where they are and help them grow at their own pace.
Outside of teaching, I am married to a wonderful man who wholeheartedly supports my dreams and goals. I love to travel, spend time near the ocean, enjoy a good cup of coffee, and make memories with my niece and nephew. I deeply value my friendships, clients, and team, while also appreciating the quiet moments and alone time that help me recharge.
At the heart of everything I do is a genuine love for children, learning, imagination, and wonder. I am excited to continue serving the community that helped shape me and to create a welcoming place where children and families feel supported, encouraged, and inspired.

About...

Sweet Academy
The dream of creating an all-inclusive learning facility began many years ago, during warm summer days spent sitting outside with my mother and sister, imagining how we could bring our unique gifts and experiences together to create something meaningful for children and families in our community. I envisioned bringing my experience in education, my mother’s background in nursing, and my sister’s own talents and expertise together under one roof. For many years, we dreamed about it, talked about it, and tried to find a way to make all the pieces fit—but the timing was never quite right.
When my mother unexpectedly passed away a few years ago, something changed. Her passing became the motivation I needed to finally take that leap and trust in everything she had taught me—not only professionally, but about life, courage, compassion, and believing in myself. I realized that perhaps the dream didn’t need to happen exactly as we had once imagined. It simply needed to begin.
Sweet Academy was named in honor of my mother, using her maiden name as a lasting reminder of the woman she was and the impact she had on all of us. Every day, I walk through the doors with a smile, knowing how proud and happy this place would make her. In so many ways, Sweet Academy is a continuation of a dream we shared—and a way of carrying her love, strength, and belief in me forward.
